For many of us, the holiday season is filled with excitement and good feelings from seeing friends and loved ones, enjoying great meals and finding something special under the tree.
However, this time of year can be especially hard on individuals and families with limited means or who suffered an unexpected hardship during the year. Unfortunately, too many continue to struggle from the lingering effects of the COVID pandemic and the related economic downturn. It continues to create hardships for those who were already struggling and those who found themselves in dire financial straits for the first time in their lives.
Why The Potter’s House?
The Potter’s House FRC, Winston Salem, has a simple purpose: To Build A Better Tomorrow
(From their website): “The Potter’s House FRC has been helping individuals and families for over 20 years. At the Potter’s House FRC, we understand that strength not only lies in our words but in our actions as well. We have set out on a mission to help heal our community and will not quit until our job is complete. The founders, Reverend Johnny and Pansy Young, answered the call to become a light in a dark community in 1996. The Potter’s House FRC inspires action, empowers families and supports communities. We’re driven by a firm belief in the power of humanity and we will do what it takes to make an impact.”
We believe that the true spirit of the season is to use the blessings that we have received to help provide for others. We know that many of you have causes to which you donate time and money. We encourage everyone to find a way to make the world a better place through service to those in need.
